So you've got WHO open on one tab and Google open on another so you can C&P from another site some of the stuff you're spouting.

When then you cunts will be disappointed because I'm now ensconced on MAFIA ISLAND and I've got WIFI!
Anyway the point is that the reaction to a central bank move can be bear steepening but also, as in this case, bull flattening.

For someone on holiday abroad you're spending an awful lot of time on WHO.

Ha so I'm being condescending by pointing out that it's the move and guidance relative to expectation of markets whereas you're not being condescending by suggesting the move itself and guidance not relative to expectations?
Ok mate. We both know which is the more nuanced point.

Thanks Gav. It was almost worth spending 30 years in the interest rate markets just to be condescended to by you on the strength of 20/20 hindsight applied to an extraordinary situation.

Yes but whatever this rise is in terms of your spreadshit curves, it isn’t there to please savers but put a lid on inflation and turn the pound around. But it so happens that we won’t see this effect until businesses start taking hits, demand slows and yields on public debt start rising. And we don’t know when that’s going to happen and at what rate.
However, what we do know is the Tories are toast as far as being a steady hand with the economy is concerned.

Stavros, the real point is that the older you are the less of a risk you should take because you don't have time, like younger people, to make up any lost ground.

Of course older people can have spare money. It's money you can afford to lose. My point was anyone saving this surplus is a bit of an idiot when in real terms you're bound to lose money.
Ps Sold0 - I'm currently at old Dar es Salaam airport enjoying some Safari lager and waiting for the prop plane over to MAFIA ISLAND.

Well of course. The thing is that the market has ignored the BOEs (relatively hawkish) guidance since about 2006 and been proven right.
The key is what's happening to the break even inflation rate (diff between inflation linked and normal bonds of the same characteristics). Before I left that had crept up so there was some justification for a move but the fall in yields in the longer end following the move and guidance suggests there's not too much concern. Can't tell without seeing the spread though.

Broadbent saying a further two more rate increases will be needed.
No worries blame it on Brexit when house prices and the economy tank. Corbyn to the rescue with a new referendum. Jobs for the boys will follow....
